It’s been about a year from the last polyplot post. Since then, I’ve improved the speed some more, cutting generation times by 30% (60% for certain plots), added some useful features (for me – like more logging details and image/data separation) and decided it’s high time they should be posters.
My current fastest method limits me to be able to solve a maximum of 2,147,483,647 polynomials. I can switch to a slower method to get around this (this is still faster than the method used in the previous post) if I need to, and I just might have to if I try something really zoomed in. This faster way also allows me to assign more than one color to the plot, so that’s a nice feature.
But with these nice large plots, a computer screen is just too small for these things. These things should be on posters, large hangable posters for those painfully dull walls of your house/apartment/dorm room! So I opened a Deviantart account in an attempt to use their print services for sale. I don’t actually know how well they are, but it’s worth a shot.
Not all the images there are set for sale, so if you see one and it isn’t but you want it, just let me know. I’ve tried to insure the whole plot fits within their requirements without loss, hopefully their print services matches them! I’ll likely add more for sale over time as I find interesting structures from the polynomials roots; exploring the plane is slow. So head on over and buy one!
