Recently I got an attachment for my camera (an intervalometer, cameras have way too many accessories) that lets me set how often the camera takes a picture, how many times it can take a picture and so on. After some experiments and working up a script, I can now make time lapses. This isn’t my first one, but its one I think turned out really well.
Here it is:
Note, it starts out black and there’s a spot of clear skies for a moment but it gets more interesting after that. Be sure to watch it at super high definition and full screen. No music though – supply your own!
If you see black spots flash by, they’re birds.
Now for some excessive stats about it:
Each picture was taken 11 seconds apart, with an f-stop of f/9 , an exposure of 1/250 seconds and ISO-100.
Number of Images: 4,808 Combined size: 7.04 GB
First Image: Apr 12, 2014 – 05:33:53 AM (31 minutes, 51 seconds BEFORE Sunrise)
Last Image: Apr 12, 2014 – 08:15:07 PM (42 minutes, 32 seconds AFTER Sunset)
Time lapse covers 14 hours, 41 minutes, 14 seconds.
Time lapse is 3 minutes, 12.32 seconds long.
Time compression is 275X
(That is, 1 second = 4 minutes, 35 seconds)
total processing time: 47 minutes, 34.397 seconds
