One day my brother came online and told me that I should try Python, a programming language. I had done computer programming before, but it was for a course in C++ of which I never retained the details after I passed the class. I recall the software for editing and compiling it came with the class, but I lost it and getting it again would somehow cost money. Whether that was true or not at the time, I don’t know. But I was under the impression that programming languages would cost money.
So I was a bit weary of trying this Python. “But it’s free!” he said. So I thought I’d give it a try.
This happened in 2009.
Since then Python programming has become a hobby. I’ve made a number of programs and scripts, several which have taken me to places I never thought of going to before. Others have led me into places that have rarely been visited by anyone. I think it’s time to start showing them.
But computer programming won’t be the exclusive focus.
